New Grace

This is a song I heard a long time ago. I can't remember who sung it, I just know I've heard it somewhere. Recently I was watching a church service where someone sung this song, but something must have happened with the internet, because there was only a few minutes of the song. But it brought the song back into my memory. I couldn't remember all the words, so I looked them up. I was surprised that when it talked about "New Grace--Grace I've not needed before" it was talking about death. It is a song to give comfort to a believer--that if God's given them grace for life He'll give them new grace for death.

I have been singing this song again, and I have made it into a video. Although like anyone I have no idea when I will die, death is not what I am facing right now. I'm facing life! So this song has given me comfort in another way. This song gives me comfort that whatever new trial comes in the future, God will give new grace to face it. Grace I've not needed before. There will always be new grace!

All of grace is my story
All the way from Earth to Glory
Since by grace He lifted me from sin and woe
Living grace He has extended
As on Him my heart depended
He'll give new grace when it's my time to go.

(Chorus)
Grace not yet discovered
Grace not yet uncovered
Grace from His bountiful store
Grace to cross the river
And grace to face forever
But there'll be new grace I've not needed before.

There's been grace for every mile
There's been grace for every trial
There's been grace sufficient from His vast supply
Grace to make my heart more tender
Grace to love and pray for sinners
But there'll be new grace when it's my time to die.
