This is one of my newest recipes. They were delicious!
225g (1 cup) butter
1 cup brown sugar divided
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tblsp water
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs separated
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup choc chips
3/4 cup chopped nuts or walnuts
Preheat oven to 180C. Cream butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy. Add water, vanilla, and egg yolks (keep whites in separate bowl). Beat for 2-3 minutes. Beat in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Spread into lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with choc chips. Beat whites then add remaining 1/2 cup sugar and blend. Carefully spread over choc chips. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake for approximately 35 minutes. Cut with a sharp knife while hot.
